Scottish Highland Games

Continuing with our plan of doing something extra fun and/or special with the kids weekly, we decided to go to the Scottish Highland Games today. Adam has been wanting to go for years and for some reason we always miss it....Well Not This Year!!!

Garrett and Levi spent the night last night so Heather and Robbie could go out for his birthday. Garrett and Levi are great to have over, they entertain the little kids and give Adam some good competition on Black Ops. All the boys fell asleep downstairs, I went down about 2am and Champ was curled up on Garrett's head, my phone was dead so I wasn't able to get a picture. This morning on the way to drop the boys off we saw the most beautiful rainbow!

The weather was perfect today, cloudy with a warm breeze. Great weather for being outside. The Games/Festival was lots of fun. I don't think I've ever seen so many men in skirts before... The food was awesome for the most part! I get the best apples in caramel sauce over a shortbread cookie, it was topped with the most incredible sweet cream and drizzled with caramel and nuts. So freaking good! Adam got a HUGE glass pitcher of beer, you got to keep the glass pitcher. It'll be great to put ice cold water in. The kids had a great time listening to the music and doing the kid games, and getting their faces painted. They loved watching all the Highland games....especially Harper! She really got into the Caber Toss! Also while we were watching some guy set the world amateur record for the Sheaf Toss....38 feet and 3 inches. Cooper was also pretty damn good at it in the kids games too. We finished the day up by stopping at Waterford Lakes, eating at Amigos and walking around and shopping. It was so nice and warm out. After we got home we all hung out in our room and watched a movie together. All in all it was pretty much a perfect day!

The spectacular rainbow that started our day!

The kids got a passport in the kids area and they stamped it each time you completed an area.

Harper after getting her face painted. The "lipstick" was her favorite part.

Cooper decided to become a pirate.
