Afternoon at Disney

Phone Food

We eat out too much a lot! So I'll be providing you with restaurant reviews and pictures of the yummy and not so yummy food we eat!

2/01 Meg O' Malley's, Melbourne FL

Sunday morning we decided to head to the book store in Melbourne. Adam didn't want breakfast so we    waited around until 11 and then went to the best Irish place in Florida...maybe all of America! This is one of the best bars I've ever been in, so authentic! The food there is awesome! We got the chips and cheese sauce as an appetizer, Adam and the kids love it. I got my two favorites, the house salad and a blackened crab/shrimp cake sandwich. That salad is hands down the best I've ever had! The greens are so fresh, the cheese is so so good and the dressing is out of this world! The sandwich has so much flavor and just the right amount of spices and kick. We've only had lunch there and for lunch time the place is definitely kid friendly. Not sure how it is at night time, they do have live music, I'm sure it's a lot of fun but not some place I'd take my kids...

1/31 Magic Kingdom, Orlando FL

So we had a ton of paper fast passes that expired at midnight (all very Cinderella like) so we meet Chad, Michelle and the boys at Magic Kingdom. We got the usual snacks....popcorn, turkey legs, churros...but I also tried something new: waffle fries with gravy and cheese! So gross! But Chad liked them! Oh and because the cash register was broken at the churro cart they gave us 6 free churros!!! Hows that for Disney magic?

1/30 Outback, St Cloud FL

So Friday night after cross fit we meet Adam for dinner (noticing a pattern here). Baylee was at her middle school dance so it was just the four of us for dinner. Harper loves going there because they have root beer floats, Cooper loves the bread and cheese fries. We had to wait about 30 min for a table, no surprise for a Friday night. Our waiter was really good, he brought extra bread to Cooper. Continuing with my theme of trying something new this year I got a bone IN rib eye. The rest got their usual...Alice Springs Chicken for Adam, mac and cheese for Peanut, and a Cesar salad and baked potato w/ butter for Cooper. My steak was really really good but I didn't notice a difference between a bone in and a bone less/out rib eye.

1/24 Sci Fi Diner Hollywood Studios, Orlando FL

Well when we first got Disney passes this was one of the top 5 places I wanted to eat. Now I can cross that off my list. It was so cool inside! We got a whole car to ourselves, Harper sat in the front, Baylee and Cooper took the middle and we got the back seat. The service was just so so, I had to ask for a refill. I got unsweet tea w/ lemon and they brought me a bowl of sliced lemons, they were some of the tastiest lemons ever. The kids got milkshakes to drink, they said they were just "ok" nothing super special. The little two got mac and cheese w/ gold fish. There was nothing on the adult menu that Baylee liked so she got popcorn chicken from the kids menu. I got the ribs, it was surprisingly good, and a pretty decent portion. They came w/ baked beans and cole slaw, both of which were tasty. Adam got shrimp and pasta, the portion size was okay but he said it didn't taste very good. So of course the place is kid friendly, it IS Disney after all. My kids really enjoyed the short B Sci-Fi movies and the Tom and Jerry cartoon they showed. The cost: Milkshakes were I believe $6, the kids meals were $8 my ribs and Adam's pasta were $23 each. It was a pretty hefty bill but it was something we were wanting to try and I'm glad we did!

1/24 Vencenzo's, St Cloud FL

This is one of our favorite breakfast places. Adam and Baylee love the breakfast sandwiches and I love the fact they always make my eggs over easy (without busting them) and the biscuits and gravy are always spot on. Oh and this is probably the most kid friendly place in St Cloud. They have games and cards and puzzles for the kids to play with while the food is being made! The owner is super nice and always comes over and sits and talks to the kids. My kids love going there!

1/23 Graze, Harmony FL

We like supporting our local eating establishments! While the menu isn't very big everything on there (that we've tried anyway) is very fresh and tasty. They also have a pretty good kids menu. We got the cheese fries (surprise surprise), the sandwich I got (trying to try new things this year) was really good. It was a turkey, bacon. brie, w/ cranberry cream cheese on chewy toasty bread. Harper got mac and cheese, she loved it since it was from the "blue box".

1/17, 1/21, 1/28 Bella Roma, St Cloud FL

Our absolute FAVORITE EVER EVER EVER!!! The best pizza AND wings! Too bad they only deliver! We have them almost once a week! Wednesday is 50 cent wing night!

1/17 Cecil's BBQ, Orlando FL

Our new favorite BBQ place! It doesn't look like much from the outside...or from the inside for that matter...but it is awesome! They serve you in a food line, actually you pick out your meat then you go down the line and serve yourself the sides. I really like that the ribs come in several sizes, I got the 3 ribs which left me room to enjoy the sides. The ribs had a ton of meat on them too, they also have t sauces that they keep WARM, sweet, mild (my fav) and spicy. For sides I got the sweet potato casserole and green beans, both were really really good. I also got to try my daughter's pulled pork and it was very flavorful.  This place is for sure kid friendly, the kid's meals are huge! Also everyone who eats there, kids AND adults, get a free self serve ice cream cone of soft serve!

1/9 Three Sister's Pizza, St Cloud FL

We are a pizza loving family! I mean we really really love it...and wings too of course. We've ate here before but it had been several years ago, so one Friday night after hubby was done with cross fit we decided to meet him there. I just love how hubby does cross fit then gets to eat like this. When we got there the place was packed, that's always a good sign. The kids and I took the last table left, we were there about 2 minutes when a waitress came up and said some man wanted to buy my kids desserts. I couldn't decide if that was creepy or not...Anyway the kids picked out their desserts, brownies, and I ordered pizza for the kids, wings for hubby, a calzone for me and garlic bread for us all. EVERYTHING we tried was excellent! I LOVED my calzone but could have just as easily made a meal out of the garlic bread. This place is also super kid friendly, they have a large chalk board on one wall and encourage the kids to draw on it. We would definitely eat here again but they don't deliver out where we live and as much as we loved it, it doesn't' beat our favorite pizza place.

1/2 Johnny's Fillin Station, Orlando FL

Horrible! Horrible food. Horrible service! It is for all purposes a bar. I read some where that it was the number 5 burger in Orlando. All I can say to that is no freaking way! I even doubled checked to make sure that this was the right place. I could actually feel myself getting sick as I ate my burger. My son did enjoy the fried corn nuggets, but he also observed that "the waitresses looked like Hooter's rejects." This place was NOT kid friendly at all. In all my years of eating out....and we eat out a lot...this is the only place I've ever been really scared that I'd get Hep C or some other undesirable outcome from the food!
