A little of this....a little of that....

So this is week 4 of trying to do something fun and special with the kids every week. We've had a pretty busy week around here. I had a super stressful few days at work, but in the end it worked out great! The hospital is super busy and full with lots of flu cases, I keep reminding the kids to wash and sanitize their hands and to NOT TOUCH THEIR FACES!!! Report cards came out this week and Cooper got straight A's for the second 9 weeks in a row! We are so proud of him. Baylee did great too and would have gotten all A's except for her science grade. Speaking of Science, her and dad spent the week working on a project of building a car that actually works out of just a battery and something else...a switch maybe? She they did great on it and got an A, it didn't actually go in a straight line, more like a circular line but it was still pretty neat. Harper's still staying busy with gymnastics and loving living her between her two best friends Abby and Kenzie, she's turned into a social butterfly and spends most of her time going from house to house to play. As the kids were playing outside tonight with all the neighborhood kids it reminded me how thankful I am to live in such a great neighborhood with such awesome neighbors.

Last night Cooper went to Chuck E Cheese with some other boys for his friend Dustin's birthday. Baylee and Harper went with the Vandenburgs to the Harmony Middle School basketball game so Adam and I found ourselves unexpectedly childless for an evening. We took advantage of it and ran into town to eat. We decided to try out Pete and Peg's Roadside Grill, it was awesome. So good in fact that we think we may take the kids back there next Friday night!

Baylee had her cheerleading end of the season party this afternoon, Adam took her to that. I stayed home with Cooper and Harper. We took Champ to the park with Cooper's friend Xander. It was so hot out today (78) that the kids and Champ played in the splash pad!

The weather is supposed to be great this week...mid 80's so that will be nice. We have our big family trip to Disney next Saturday to look forward to. Hope this week flies by!

Cooper being too cool for me!

I love being across the street from the park/lake/playground/basketball court/splash pad/volley ball court

Harper said "I just want to cool my feet off"

her and the boys ended up completely soaked!

I asked Coop why he and Xander were sitting so close, they said they could only find one remote and wanted to be close enough to share it and the chips! Too cute!

Ready for Family Game Night!

At 11:00 tonight Cooper got in our bed with Champ and announced he wanted to watch the Goonies! He knows I keep it on the DVR. Champ isn't that into it though...Love that my little guy loves 80's movies!

Scottish Highland Games

Continuing with our plan of doing something extra fun and/or special with the kids weekly, we decided to go to the Scottish Highland Games today. Adam has been wanting to go for years and for some reason we always miss it....Well Not This Year!!!

Garrett and Levi spent the night last night so Heather and Robbie could go out for his birthday. Garrett and Levi are great to have over, they entertain the little kids and give Adam some good competition on Black Ops. All the boys fell asleep downstairs, I went down about 2am and Champ was curled up on Garrett's head, my phone was dead so I wasn't able to get a picture. This morning on the way to drop the boys off we saw the most beautiful rainbow!

The weather was perfect today, cloudy with a warm breeze. Great weather for being outside. The Games/Festival was lots of fun. I don't think I've ever seen so many men in skirts before... The food was awesome for the most part! I get the best apples in caramel sauce over a shortbread cookie, it was topped with the most incredible sweet cream and drizzled with caramel and nuts. So freaking good! Adam got a HUGE glass pitcher of beer, you got to keep the glass pitcher. It'll be great to put ice cold water in. The kids had a great time listening to the music and doing the kid games, and getting their faces painted. They loved watching all the Highland games....especially Harper! She really got into the Caber Toss! Also while we were watching some guy set the world amateur record for the Sheaf Toss....38 feet and 3 inches. Cooper was also pretty damn good at it in the kids games too. We finished the day up by stopping at Waterford Lakes, eating at Amigos and walking around and shopping. It was so nice and warm out. After we got home we all hung out in our room and watched a movie together. All in all it was pretty much a perfect day!

The spectacular rainbow that started our day!

The kids got a passport in the kids area and they stamped it each time you completed an area.

Harper after getting her face painted. The "lipstick" was her favorite part.

Cooper decided to become a pirate.

Happy 2013!

It's been a fun couple of weeks, we've had Christmas, New Years, and a BSC game that I'm not allowed to talk about EVER. The kids had a great Christmas, they're too spoiled! The weather has been awesome down here. It's been in the 80's all week! One of our goals for 2012 is to do something fun with the kids every week. Not necessacirialily going somewhere, just something fun. Last week the boys went and played paintball with the church and the girls stayed home and had a pj and movie day. Last night we went to Old Town/Fun Spot. The kids had lots of fun riding rides and go carts and looking at the old cars. It's neat that now Cooper is actually really interested in the cars....Harper only likes the red ones. Harmony is having family volleyball this evening so we may check that out, it's also supposed to be 84 today so there's a possibility we may do some swimming too.....

Old Town does a classic care cruise every Saturday night, last night there was over 300 cars. Understandably, most of the owners don't want anyone touching their cars. Harper was looking at this one and said "Wow I love it, it's awesome and fast" so the owner asked her if she wanted to sit in it and have her picture taken, of course she did. She told me she wanted us to get that for our next car

Harper loved the bumper cars the most!

Cooper is finally tall enough to go on the big bumper cars.

She loved "bumping" people, I'm in trouble when she's old enough to drive a car.

Harper got just a little scared at the beginning of the ride....
